Not So Good Morning

My morning consisted of waking up late, rushing to get dressed to make it to school on time.  After I made it to school on time, I realized it was raining and I had straightened my hair.  Straight hair and rain do not mix well.  Rushing to get up the stairs to get inside before my hair frizzed up; I mopped it in front of the stairs while walking right passed Mr. Hatt.  While he stood there asking if I was okay, my sister helped me up and I quickly walked up the stairs.  This was the most embarrassing thing I have ever gone through, and of course; the first thing I thought about when I got up was: "CAN'T WAIT TO BLOG ABOUT THIS."

History of the World Wide Web

So who really did create the internet? Well that question remains unanswered.  There is still question as to who really did create the internet.  However, it is agreed that the internet was created in 1969 at the Pentagon, and it was designed to survive a nuclear attack.
I bet you're wondering how e-mail was invented.  Well it never really was invented, it evolved from very simple beginnings.  The first system of e-mail was called MAILBOX which was used at Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1965.  MAILBOX was not the only system, there was another system of e-mail which was also used, this was called SNDMSG.  Before internetworking began, e-mails could only be sent to the same computer.  It was almost like leaving a "note" on someone's desk.  Nowadays, despite what the internet has to offer, e-mail remains the most important application of the internet and it is the most widely used facility; with over 600 million people internationally using it.  Whether you have Hotmail, AOL, or G-Mail your e-mail can be sent anywhere to anyone in the world wide web and it is very simple to use.

Research

How much does a website cost?
When making a website you are charged for 4 main things: Hourly rate, project price, package rates, and a per page cost.
Your hourly rate is based off of experience, location, and many other factors.  This can range from $8.00 to $500.00.  The main tip is that you should always check with your web developers past clients to make sure you are getting what you pay for.  Many design firms will give you a set price for completing your project, this is called the project price.  The best idea for you is to have a thorough and complete list of requirements needed to complete your website.  The package rate is something that most design firms have already, instead of creating your own "package" you can pick from one of theirs which will, in the long run; be much cheaper.  A web designer's average salary ranges from $33,859 to $50,213.

Remembering 9/11

Even though September 11, 2011 was 10 years ago, sometimes; I remember it like it was just yesterday.  I was only in 2nd grade when this terrorist attack occurred, but everything from that day is clear.
Friday September 9, 2011, Mahopac High School had an assembly outside about 9/11.  This assembly was very interesting.  Firefighters, guardsmen, the principle as well as other important people from the school came to talk about what happened.  A few students even shared some poetry.  Throughout the entire assembly I was all eyes and ears, I even had a few tears along the way.  This assembly made me realize that being here is truly a blessing and that it should not be taken for granted.
Tomorrow is September 11, 2011; my heart goes out to those who lost a family member or even a friend because of the terrorist attack or fighting to save others.  I will never forget those who risked their lives.

Blog with a Purpose

While looking through blogs, I found one that really caught my eye.  This one has a bunch of recipes on it.  It is a really good idea to blog about recipes because we are becoming so electronically advanced that it is much easier to find a recipe on a website rather then looking through a book.  It is easy to find what you are looking for as well. Enjoy! :)

My Dogs

First Day of School

The first day of school is always interesting, you get to see what your teachers are like as well as who is in your classes.  I was happy to see that I knew people in all of my classes.  I was able to figure out when I could make time to see other friends before and after classes.  The first day of school is always the easiest, I am eager to see how the rest of the school year goes.
